Auto Innovation Centre (AIC) Preview for Federal Minister of Industry

November 15, 2019

Ahead of the launch of the cutting-edge Auto Innovation Centre (AIC) in December, the Federal Minister for Industry, Science and Technology – the Hon. Karen Andrews MP has visited the facility for a sneak preview.

The Minister was welcomed by Luke Truskinger – AIC Managing Director, Stuart Charity – CEO of the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association, AAAA Board Members and a small selection of industry representatives.

Despite being an active work zone as the facility continues to come together, Minister Andrews was given a tour on the key aspects and technologies that will increase capability of automotive companies and aid in new product development for local and export markets. Through OEM Vehicle Data, 3D Scanning and testing services including ESC (Sine-with-Dwell) and Brake Performance testing, the AIC will transform the automotive aftermarket industry.

As a qualified Mechanical Engineer, Minister Andrews was extremely interested in the AIC development and positive about the potential of the facility to benefit the automotive industry in Australia in a meaningful way.
The official opening of the AIC in December will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the industry.
